A significant multi-vehicle pile-up has closed parts of the Tuggeranong Parkway during the morning peak hour, as heavy rainfall blankets the city. Six cars crashed into each other while travelling northbound on the Parkway near the Cotter Road intersection just after 8.20am on Tuesday. The crash has led to the closure of one northbound lane on the road, and drivers are being urged to avoid the area. An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokeswoman said multiple patients were being assessed at the scene, but no major injuries had been reported. “There are quite significant delays along the road and multiple tow-trucks are required, so people are urged to avoid the area,” the spokeswoman said, Police have warned drivers of dangerous conditions on Canberra’s roads with up to 90 millimetres of rain forecast to fall on Tuesday.
