One person was killed and two firefighters were injured after a fire broke out at an assisted-living facility in the northern New York City suburb of Spring Valley on March 23, local news reports said. This footage, by Benny Polatseck, shows residents being evacuated from the Evergreen Court facility, and flames engulfing the building. According to ABC 7, more than 20 residents were rescued from the fire but one later died in hospital. A firefighter who became trapped in the blaze managed to escape and was being treated for injuries, while another was hospitalized due to what was believed to be a heart attack, the outlet reported.
