The Queensland premier has been heckled by a Liberal National Party volunteer over her government’s controversial border restrictions in Brisbane, as she and her opponent blitz marginal seats in a last-minute bid for votes on state election day.
Annastacia Palaszczuk had just voted in her electorate of Inala on Saturday and was surrounded by media when the angry volunteer started yelling for her to reopen the borders, telling her to consider the travel industry and “209,000 people out of work”.
“It’s about time it stopped. Open the borders,” the man said.
