All Saints Anglican Church in Collie was a sea of pink, Annaliesse Ugle’s favourite colour, as the young girl was farewelled on Monday.
Hundreds of mourners gathered in the South West town for the funeral of the 11-year-old Boddington student, who took her own life last month after her alleged rapist was allowed to walk free on bail.
The 67-year-old man has since been arrested again, charged with another 17 offences, and is behind bars after bail was refused in court last month.
One month on from the young girl’s death, her family is fighting for ‘Annaliesse’s Law’, which would stop anyone charged with child sex offences being released on bail as they await trial.
