“I booked Brock for this ride a couple of months ago, and he did all the work on her to have her right for this day.
“She only cost $3000 and has now won $300,000, and I would like to try and get some black type with her now.”
Monegal gave Ryan his first metropolitan Saturday double after he won the Highway Handicap on She’s All In earlier, and he came back with a big smile.
“It was perfect and she did the rest,” Ryan said. “I have been waiting for her all day and to win in front of my family and friends on our biggest day is amazing.”
Meanwhile, stewards grilled Nash Rawiller for his ride on favourite Greek Hero, which missed the start and closed late for third.
Stewards questioned if Rawiller was at his best at several points of the race. They adjourned the inquiry into the ride on the havily supported favourite.
Stolen Jade earn a trip to the Magic Millions
Clarry Conners can confidently turn his attention to the Magic Millions after Stolen Jade completed a hat-trick of wins at Kembla Grange on Saturday.
She continued a great run for Conners, who has had nine winners from his past 26 runners, and lifted Stolen Jade up in the ratings to make sure she can chase the $1 million prize on the Gold Coast next year.
“This preparation she has had the three starts now, three wins,” Conners said.
“Last preparation she was a very heavy horse and we purposely sent her out to come back a more athletic type and I think that has worked wonders for her.
“She’s going great. She is a beautiful horse, just have a look at her. I have nicknamed her ‘Bo’ for Bo Derek. She is a perfect, lovely horse.
“She is a Magic Millions horse, so she’ll go to Brisbane for the mares race. I had to run her today to get her benchmark up to make sure she gets a start.”
Sargent on point in Clockwise Classic
John Sargent will stick to a magical path to the Gold Coast after Readily Availabull won the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic at Ballarat on Saturday.
The $25,000 buy on a holiday in Tasmania has already repaid his purchase price for a ladies syndicate including his wife, Susie.

“She actually booked a trip to Tassie and the sales were on. I had Encountabull and there were a couple of Bull Points in the sale, so I wanted to have look,” Sargent said. “I said to her ‘let’s have a look at them’ and we came home with this bloke for $25,000.
“It looks like a good buy now because we are heading to the Gold Coast.
“He barrier trialed well in Sydney and we went there hoping that he would run well, and he has won.”
Sargent is keen to get Availabull back to Sydney after charged home to win the $250,000 race and will head to next month’s Wyong Magic Millions.
“He is a running two-year-old, and while he is up and going I think we stick to those Magic Millions races and hopefully win a couple more,” Sargent said.
