Mr Tsavalas said the result was driven by first homebuyers.

“Patrick loved that he was able to pass the keys of his first property to another first time buyer,” he said.

Mr Abboud, who also appears on Network 10’s The Project, purchased the property in 2010 for $337,000. In recent years it had been used as investment property, and was recently listed for rent with a $495 per week asking price.

Five bidders registered to participate in auction for 7 Page Ave, with four raising a paddle during the fast event.

Cooley Auctions auctioneer Michael Garofolo started the auction with an opening bid of $1.2 million. He said the market was seeing plenty of big results at the moment due to a combination of cheap money and a lack of available stock.
