Victoria Schnabl was 22 when she started Victoria’s Models, showing the confidence of youth to branch out on her own after starting her career in another Canberra modelling agency. Victoria’s Models has just celebrated 25 years. The genuine local success story is now Canberra’s longest-running agency. Victoria said she had several models who had worked with her throughout those 25 years and now their daughters were also on the books. She regarded her long-time models as family and felt motherly towards the younger models making their way. “I do feel it’s very important that everyone is treated well,” she said. Canberra born and bred, growing up in Weston Creek, Victoria is still in the ‘hood, her business based at her home in Lyons. Among her models was SBS sports presenter Lucy Zelic, who also worked in the office. “We have had the opportunity to work on many amazing events and advertising campaigns over the years,” Victoria said. Victoria Model’s also provided actors and extras for TV shows and movies from Queer Eye to Secret City. “We have provided hosts, presenters and promotional models to help promote our clients in hundreds of events and campaigns,” she said. Victoria was “excited” to be marking the milestone. “It was just a crummy year to be celebrating it,” she said, referring to COVID-19. But, in the end, “it’s wonderful to reflect on the relationships we have developed with our models and clients in the Canberra community since 1995”.
