Police said her body was recovered from the unit and she was the only one who lived there.

The QFES spokesman said the fire was in the unit’s rear bedroom and was extinguished within 15 minutes.

Paramedics assessed one other patient at the scene, a man, who was transported to the Prince Charles Hospital.

He was in a stable condition and suffering from chest pain, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said. A police spokesman said he was believed to be a witness.

Police established a crime scene.

Fire investigators continue work to determine the cause of the blaze, however, the cause of the fire was not believed to be suspicious.
