A man and a woman will face ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow over numerous driving offences. ACT Policing said officers were conducting a patrol at an apartment complex in Reid on Saturday night when, upon seeing police, a 33-year-old man and 25-year-old woman fled the area in a vehicle at 10.45pm. Officers then followed the vehicle which had been reported stolen from Braddon on Sunday, December 20. The vehicle allegedly traveled down Limestone Avenue, and the driver failed to stop for police. Police used stop sticks on Cowper Street, impacting the front, left wheel of the car. The car eventually stopped on Northbourne Avenue in Turner. After the car stopped, the occupants allegedly fled on foot before police caught them. The 33-year-old man was already on parole and was charged with aggravated driving, failing to stop for police, driving a motor vehicle without consent and entering an intersection through a red light. The 25-year-old woman was charged with riding in a motor vehicle without consent. The pair are due to appear before the ACT Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
