A man has had his license suspended immediately after drink-driving colliding with a police car on Saturday night. ACT Policing said the collision occurred just after 9pm on Saturday night at the intersection of Hindmarsh Drive and Palmer Street in Garran. Police alleged a silver station wagon turned in front of the unmarked police car, against the traffic lights. The police car rolled and came to a rest approximately 20 metres east of the intersection. One of the officers in the car needed to be extracted by ACT Fire and Rescue, with both officers receiving minor injuries. The driver of the station wagon recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.163, and was uninjured in the crash. ACT Policing said he has been suspended immediately and further investigations are ongoing.
