When completed, it will be the first major sports stadium owned by a professional football club in Australia and the stadium will be the centrepiece of a broader development that links sports, commercial and residential precincts.

“Approval of a planning amendment has brought a 15,000-seat soccer stadium in Tarneit one step closer to being realised for @wufcofficial. This project represents over $150 million of investment in Melb’s West & will create local jobs, promote community sport & wellbeing,” she wrote.
Wyndham Council is a partner in the project, and the mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich, said: “Large projects such as this are significant for a city like Wyndham. As we continue our Covid recovery, we’re working hard to ensure our local economy bounces back and this project will provide jobs and create a fantastic new community asset.”
