High-profile Sydney lawyer Adam Houda is threatening to sue the police, claiming he was illegally harassed by officers on Sunday night.

Mr Houda, an outspoken criminal defence lawyer who has represented a string of notorious clients, accused police officers of racial profiling in the incident in which he and a friend were pulled over and searched after a visit to a 7-Eleven near his home on the outskirts of south-west Sydney.

“Arrested by NSW Police tonight (seventh time) for absolutely nothing at all after attending my local 7-Eleven. I’m absolutely devastated and distressed. Flashing sirens, two police cars, four to six cops, my vehicle and body searched,” Mr Houda, 46, posted on Twitter about midnight.

In a statement, NSW Police said officers on patrol stopped a 1950 Buick in the Minto area about 10.30pm and spoke to the driver of the distinctive vintage car, Mr Houda.
