A man allegedly attempted to murder his elderly step-father by running him down with a car outside their family home in north-west Sydney on the weekend.
Police have been told the man, 30, allegedly assaulted his step-father, 70, at the home they share on The Parade in Telopea about 3.40pm Sunday.
He then dragged his step-father onto a nature strip outside the property and kicked him in the face, police were told.
The younger man then briefly left the scene in a car, before he returned and allegedly drove at his step-father with the vehicle.
The elderly man was thrown three to four metres, knocked unconscious and suffered multiple injuries. He is being treated for his injuries in hospital.
