Another teenage male was also arrested and was being questioned by detectives.

Northern Police Region Assistant Commissioner Brett Schafferius said on Monday the break-in was “disgusting”.

Mr Schafferius said police believed the break-in and Ms Board’s death were not linked.

“Our investigations at this stage say no, it doesn’t look like there are any linkages there and there is nothing to suggest the offenders knew it was her unit,” he said on Monday.

Ms Board was riding along Ross River Road at Kirwan, a suburb of Townsville, on Friday night when two cars collided and one crashed into her motorcycle.

Police said the cars involved were a stolen Hyundai sedan, believed to be carrying four teenagers, and a Holden Statesman, carrying three people who were chasing the stolen car.

It will be alleged the Holden hit the Hyundai from behind, but the driver of the Holden lost control, crossed the median strip and collided head-on with Ms Board.

A string of serious charges have been laid over the incident.

An 18-year-old male suspected to have been in the Hyundai has been charged with four counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing and two counts of attempted burglary.

Another 18-year-old male has been charged with seven counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts each of burglary and stealing, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and one count of attempted burglary.

A 17-year-old female has been charged with five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of stealing.

Police believe one more male is at large.

The alleged 25-year-old male driver of the Holden has been charged with one count of murder. The 41-year-old man and 22-year-old woman also in the car have not been charged.

Mr Schafferius confirmed police were investigating fake GoFundMe campaigns created in Ms Board’s name.
