The man at the centre of a 26-hour siege in Brisbane’s south has been charged with 11 offences relating to the incident and his alleged actions leading up to it, including the armed robbery of a nearby hotel.

Police took the man into custody about 12.30pm on Friday after a stand-off at a Sunnybank home, where he was holed up with a three-year-old boy and a woman, both of whom were known to him.

In a statement late on Friday, police revealed they initially attended the Dyson Avenue address at 10.30am the day before in relation to an alleged armed robbery of the Salisbury Hotel on February 14.

The man is expected to appear before court on Saturday charged with 11 offences, including three counts each of common assault and deprivation of liberty. He also faces one count each of endangering children by exposure, entering premises with intent, armed robbery, serious assault of a police officer while armed, and unlawful possession of a category H weapon.
