Don’t go anywhere
Up next, the Force and Brumbies square off in Perth.
We’ll keep the coverage running until full time in that clash. Don’t you dare close that tab.
That’s all she wrote
Waratahs coach Rob Penney would have struggled to conjure a worse start to the Super Rugby AU season.
NSW will almost certainly be without new captain Jake Gordon (ankle), Joey Walton (ankle) and Izaia Perese (suspension) next week. And his team have been belted.
The opposite could be said about Reds coach Brad Thorn.
This was a carve up, as they say in the classics
Queensland conceded the first try in the opening minutes. They reset and scored 41 straight points.
They fell at the final hurdle last year and you don’t win premierships in February but that was seriously impressive.

TRY! Reds finish in sensational style
Hunter Paisami, James O’Connor, take a bow.
A perfect pop pass from Paisami found O’Connor, he threw a precision cutout pass to Ilaisa Droasese and the replacement winger dived over for yet another Reds try.
This has been some statement from the Reds. Absolute domination at Suncorp Stadium.

TRY! Daugunu has a double!
A scrum set play saw a Moses Sorovi pop pass find the flying Daugunu.
Mis-communication between Tane Edmed and Will Harrison then left a gaping hole in the NSW line. There was no stopping the Wallabies winger from there.
From a Waratahs perspective, that’s the softest try of the night.
With Gordon, Walton and Perese almost certainly out of action next week, NSW’s already low stocks are plummeting.
This is going to be a long year for the men in sky blue.
72′ – QLD 34 NSW 7
O’Connor nails 50-22
It was a brilliant kick from the star five-eighth.
He made the most of a Fraser McReight pilfer and acres of space behind NSW’s line and placed a perfect kick from well inside his own half.
The ball dribbled out inside the NSW 22, giving the Reds a lineout.
Gordon goes down
That’s the last thing Waratahs fans wanted to see.
Their new captain has limped off with an ankle injury.
They’ll now be without Gordon, Walton (ankle) and Perese (red card) next week.
The shallow squad depth will be put to the test immediately.
66′ – QLD 27 NSW 7
McDermott saves Waratahs try
The Queensland halfback produced a quality hustle play to chase Will Harrison down and force a knock on when NSW had an overlap at their disposal.
The Waratahs look best in open play. When the extra pass doesn’t go to ground, they’re causing problems for a Queensland team which thrives on structure.
Still no second half points.

Walton walks off
Bad news for Joey Walton.
The centre just limped off with an ankle injury. Judging by his reaction, it looked serious.
Here’s hoping he’s okay.

Reds set up shop inside Waratahs’ half
The traffic isn’t as heavy but it’s still one way.
Queensland have set up camp inside NSW’s half. The territory dominance is largely thanks to their forward pack.
Halfback Tate McDermott has no shortage of forwards working around the corner. The majority of those carries are making their way over the gain line, too.
The NSW pack has no answers at the moment.
Taniela Tupou entered the fray at half time, making matters worse for the visitors.
50′ – QLD 27 NSW 7
