A specialist taskforce will investigate the circumstances that led to the death of a 34-year-old man during an incident in Page on Saturday. The taskforce will be made up of a range of criminal investigators, which ACT Policing said had a wide range of expertise. A 36-year-old man, who was injured in the bloody incident, has been arrested by police, but no charges have been laid as of yet. ACT Policing detective superintendent of criminal investigations Scott Muller said the investigation would be lengthy. “We have arrested the man we believe was responsible for this incident, but due to the nature of his injuries and the injuries incurred by the two surviving victims, it will be some time before we are able to speak further to them,” he said. “The primary concern at the moment is the recovery of all the people injured and the investigation will progress once more information is available.” Mystery still surrounds the incident, which left one person dead and three injured. A 20-year-old woman, along with a 28-year-old man and the 36-year-old man who had been arrested, remain in hospital. It is believed two knives were allegedly used in the initial attack. Braine Street in Page, where the incident allegedly took place, remains a crime scene two days later. Detectives have interviewed more than 20 witnesses. ACT Policing said a search warrant had been carried out at the home of where the victim was found. For faster access to the latest Canberra news, download The Canberra Times app for iOS and Android.
