A freight train has derailed at Coffs Harbour on the mid-north coast of NSW.

Emergency services crews were called to train tracks at Nana Glen, about 25 kilometres north-west of Coffs Harbour, after the train derailed about 1.45am on Thursday.

Fire and Rescue NSW said on social media that “a number of carriages” had fallen off the track and “resulted in a large fuel spill”.

“This incident will be ongoing for a number of days.”
