Light rail services will be impacted during construction of a new stop in Mitchell. There will be a partial shutdown of the network on March 13 and 14 between EPIC and Racecourse stops and Gungahlin Place stops. During the shutdown, which will run from 1am Saturday March 13 to 5am Monday March 15, replacement bus services will operate between Dickson Interchange and Gungahlin Place. Rail replacement bus stops will be adjacent to light rail stops. Light rail services will continue between Alinga Street and EPIC. The first phase of construction of the Sandford Street light rail stop started in January. Transport Canberra said the second phase would take place along the Flemington Road near Sandford Street. “The construction works will allow the stop canopy to be brought in and manoeuvred into position and cladding and framing will be installed,” he said. Flemington Road, between Randwick Road and Sandford Street, will be closed for the duration of the works to both cyclists and cars.
