Each week, Sunday Life’s beauty director Stephanie Darling roadtests a different makeup or skincare trend to find out whether it’s worth your time. Ahead, a deep cleansing facial and
a new nail colour that’s pure gold.

Road Test

After a month’s break for the holidays, my skin feels in need of a refreshing, cleansing facial.
The lowdown I am at Skin Clinic at Blyss with the very knowledgeable therapist Jodie King for a deep-skin cleanse. My skin is feeling dull and dehydrated post-party season, so Jodie suggests treating it with an oxygenating trio peel. She cleanses my face and then applies the facial in three stages. First is a fruit enzyme peel that is left on for two minutes; second is a thermal cleanser, and finally an oxygenating peel. Next, she applies a soothing balm (Cosmedix Rescue Balm) and massages it into my skin. Then she applies Cosmedix Blueberry Antioxidant Peel to brighten up my face, clear clogged pores and exfoliate dead skin cells. This is left to do its work for 10 minutes and I finish up with a soothing LED light treatment for half an hour.
