The ACT Emergency Services Agency has advised that residents may see or smell smoke in some areas of Canberra on Friday afternoon due to a number of hazard reduction burns. Firefighters from ACT Parks and Conservation Service and ACT Rural Fire Service were undertaking multiple burns at Molonglo River Reserve, Cooleman Ridge in Chapman, and Gubur Dhaura in Franklin. The ESA is asking that Canberrans only call triple zero in the event of an unattended fire.
