But it went online 24 hours ago and I have had 20 inquiries already.”To date, a mix of locals and Melbourne-based investors, as well as a few thinking about building a holiday home, have inquired.The seller, who bought the block for “about $5000” about five years ago, lives in Geelong and had intended to build a weekender before their circumstances changed.Even with the increase, it’s still about as affordable as property gets.

“If you are looking at land in Mildura, you are usually looking at $100,000-$150,000,” Mr Driscoll said.“But take a 45 minute drive and you get something for $10,000.”With a water and power connection, but no gas, the block just needs a house built on it — or trucked in from elsewhere.“It’s definitely dirt cheap at $10,000,” Mr Driscoll said.The next cheapest block on realestate.com.au is a $13,950 allotment at 17 Poole Street, Murrayville, which is currently under offer. A 201 Broadway, Dunolly, lot is listed with a $20,000 price tag.
