Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with murder after the stabbing death of a woman in Bundaberg.

Emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance on Kepnock Road about 8.50am on Friday to find a woman with “serious stab wounds,” police said in a statement.

The 36-year-old was later declared dead at the scene. The teenager will appear in Bundaberg Children’s Court on Monday.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed anything or have dashcam footage of the road near the Kepnock State High School between 7am and 9am on Friday morning to come forward.
