Senior Constable Amey said there were no indications Amy met with foul play and police were keeping an open mind. Despite a number of reports, there have been no confirmed sightings of Amy.
Amy’s wife, Rebecca Schulkins, said her disappearance was very out-of-character. The couple have five children, aged between six and 15, and they are struggling.
“She [Amy] was a bit distant that day to be honest, she was in a funny mood, something I had never seen in our four-and-a-half years together,” she said.
“I mentioned it to my in-laws that day because we went out for dinner. I said to her: ‘Jeez you’re in a weird mood’. She just said she was tired.
“We just need to know that you’re safe. I wonder at night if you’re cold or hungry. I love you so much and it’s just you and me always. Please come home.
“Dakotah, Mika and Matilda are beside themselves with worry. Zoe and Jensen are very sad, but being little, are optimistic and don’t fully understand what is going on.
“Mika, he found out via social media, via TikTok, someone had put up an ‘Amy’s missing’ type post and poor Jodie [birth mother] was at work at the time and she couldn’t leave for five hours.”
Rebecca Schulkins said a Facebook group to spread awareness about her missing wife had attracted thousands of supporters.
“I was excited when there were six people on that site … Jodie, the birth mum of two of our children, started it for us. Now there’s nearly 26,000 – I don’t know why it has gone so viral,” she said.
“She [Amy] is the most bubbly, funny person you’ll ever meet. The most loving wife and mother.
“She’s charismatic, everyone who meets her falls in love with her, she’s got hundreds of friends and she keeps in contact with every single one.”
Amy’s parents, Allan and Lee, pleaded with their daughter to let someone know she is OK.
“If you need a break from everything, that’s OK. We love you and just want you home,” they said.
“We love you. We want you home. You always have a place at our home.”
Amy is described as Caucasian, about 165 centimetres in height, with short brown hair and blue eyes. She has a distinctive arm sleeve tattooed in memory of a family member.
Investigators are continuing to appeal for dashcam vision from the Bruce Highway or the D’Aguilar Highway, north or south, between 11.40pm on December 30 and 1am on December 31.
