A main bedroom where you’ll wake up feeling like you’re on holidays, an alfresco space suited to any weather Melbourne throws at you, and a cinema that’s “better than Gold Class”.

These are just some of the perks that await the buyer of 20 Glencoe Street, Caulfield North.

The “mind-blowing” four-bedroom house has hit the market with a $5-$5.5m price guide about six years after it was completed.

… an “Elite Class” cinema.

Gary Peer Caulfield North director Darren Krongold said the vendor engaged the late David Edelman — a founding member of the Australian Architecture Association — to design and build the abode in collaboration with interior designer Deborah Schmideg.

“It’s an absolutely incredible home from the minute you walk in the front door,” he said.

The underground cinema is a clear highlight, with the vendor spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to create the space featuring 11 luxury recliners, a stone bar, custom-designed carpets, and a dramatic lighting and audio visual system.

The outdoor living room is a standout feature.

The indoor and outdoor living spaces flow seamlessly into one another.

Can you spot the swanky backlit bar?

“It’s better than Gold Class — it’s Elite Class,” Mr Krongold said.

“The sound in there is unbelievable, and nobody can hear you.”

Then there’s the clever outdoor living space that’s fully enclosed, and features an automatic louvre roof, a suspended fireplace and airconditioning that ensure it can be used all year round.

“It would be great for parties,” the agent said.

“In winter, you could sit out there on a cold night and put the heating on. And this Sunday, when it’s 38C, I’ll be putting on the aircon.”

The space flows, via full-height glass doors, into the main open-plan living and dining area, where a backlit bar and a gourmet kitchen await.

The main bedroom oozes holiday vibes, looking directly over the pool.

The latter has stone benches, a large cool room, a butler’s pantry, and Miele appliances including two ovens and an induction cooktop.

The bedrooms are split between the ground and first floors, with the main boasting a high-end dressing room, an ensuite with a freestanding spa bath and a double shower, and garden and pool views that make you “feel like you’re on a holiday”.

Mr Krongold added the whole house could be “driven by an iPad”, courtesy of a Crestron Home Automation system.

A home office, dual garage and manicured gardens complete the package, which occupies a 887sq m block.

The property’s expressions of interest campaign closes February 24.
