THE INSIDE MAIL WITH SHAYNE O’CASS: COFFS HARBOUR

RACE 1
Four Egos has six placed times from his seven starts around the place and occasionally in quite good quality maidens. The Ross Stitt trained son of Casino Prince always races in the first few and should be prominent again from barrier 2. Schiller Bay is a first starter from the Jenny Graham stable and has looked the part winning both trials at home at Port. Drawn perfectly. Hyland Bay is a local now, he zoomed home from the back to place at Moree. Loneisha and Pump It Up are in the mix.
BET: FOUR EGOS WIN

RACE 2
Shows Pride has placed only twice in his 11 starts but the local is rarely far away at the finish. That was a big run at Grafton last start’ he drew 12 of 12 and was 10th in the mid-stages but ended by being beaten under a length. Peaks on Thursday. Loose Buttons is a Dynamic Syndications filly trained by Jason Deamer. Drew wide, got back, made good ground in the straight at Quirindi over 1200m — gets to 1400m this time. Spirited Charlize was $31 into $19 at Taree and ran accordingly clocking in third. Clearly on an upward trajectory.
BET: SHOWS PRIDE, BOX TRIFECTA 2,7,12,13

RACE 3
Bay Of Bengal has been costly on the one hand but the Sepoy gelding has placed at seven of his nine appearances and five of them were him finishing runner-up. The Neil Godbolt trained gelding placed in a recent trial and has an acceptable draw. Demykani Miss likes to lead. In fact she has led and been run down late by one other both times at her two runs last month. Will get the chance to lead again from barrier 3 here. Kris Lees trained filly Superel ran quite well in two stronger races than what she meets first-up today.
BET: BAY OF BENGAL WIN

RACE 4
Slice Of Heaven is a handy filly from the Colt Prosser camp. A daughter of Rubick, Slice Of Heaven has won twice in only five starts beating the above-mentioned Bay Of Bengal in the last one in June before the break. Given an easy time of things in a Taree trial. Nicci Trix has the dream draw for her. She has plenty of pace which should see her right there from the outset in this 1000m (very fast) dash. Standing Bear was beaten a long way by Rejinsky last start but that is hardly surprising, or a disgrace. Moonhawk is a speed on-pacer/leader with claims.
BET: SLICE OF HEAVEN WIN

RACE 5
Havana Storm had an awesome preparation last time in work. The daughter of Pierro looks like she has come back in equally good shape judging on her first-up run at Taree where she really held her own there with the 60.5kg. Two of her three wins have come at this distance. Makes genuine appeal. Stylish Pattern has Jeff Penza on from a good draw bearing in mind that the gelding drew 10 of 10 here last start and was only beaten a half-length. Boyles was a supremely dominant winner at Grafton last start. Northern Knight and Guest can figure.
BET: HAVANA STORM WIN, BOX TRIFECTA 1,2,4,6,7

RACE 6
Divine Approach was scratched from a race at her home track at Gosford to run here instead on Showcase day. The Tony Newing trained mare has a huge finish on her and she can really let rip when circumstances allow. She has placed at three of her four first-up runs and mixed and matched it with superior horses, albeit it’s no slam dunk for her either. Rest Of The World is a Matthew Dunn trained gelding who is very good on his day but can occasionally run very cold. If the ‘best Rest’ were to show up here, he would medal. Henschel is so consistent.
BET: DIVINE APPROACH WIN

RACE 7
Party Host was terrific in the Krambach Sprint first-up, more so in light of the fact that 1250m is short of his best. He went to Kempsey three weeks later, stepped to 1450m, and won showing the versatility of a horse in a very good frame on body and mind. Ditto that for Magic Wu. The son of Magic Albert has been going great guns this time in. Every run was better than the last one. Nothing will be finishing faster than him — maybe, Party Host, but nothing else. Safado — the horse in the Sir Dapper and Juggler colours — is the only horse in the 2020 Sawtell Cup with a benchmark rating in the 80’s.
BET: PARTY HOST

Sky Racing News Update: Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

RACE 8
Chance we go without Tilly’s Star who drew wide but if for some reason she was here, she is on top. Saintly Sunrise, the grey-coloured stablemate of Plonka, is a handy horse in his own right. The Warren Gavenlock trained five-year-old is a Wyong winner who has other provincial form and he didn’t run too badly in a Highway at the end of the last/rock solid campaign. Stonecold Flex has Jeff Penza on. This son of Her Majesty’s horse Carlton House is nearly always thereabouts at the winning post. Chargement and Power Bells are obvious contenders.
BET: TILLY’S STAR WIN OR IF SCRATCHED SAINTLY SUNRISE WIN
