Documentary maker and founder of The Feed on SBS, Patrick Abboud, has sold a
one-bedroom loft for $605,000.
The result for 5/13 Abercrombie St in Chippendale was $55,000 over the reserve after a spirited auction with five registered bidders.
Snapped up by an inner west buyer, the sale was also $105,000 more than the price guide set by Adrian William’s Adrian Tsavalas.

Mr Tsavalas said the result was driven by first homebuyers.
“Patrick loved that he was able to pass the keys of his first property to another first time buyer,” he said.
Mr Abboud, who also appears on Network 10’s The Project, purchased the property in 2010 for $337,000. In recent years it had been used as investment property, and was recently listed for rent with a $495 per week asking price.
Also in the inner west, an Ashfield Californian bungalow that needed modernising sold for $160,000 above the reserve to a young couple.
Five bidders registered to participate in auction for 7 Page Ave, with four raising a paddle during the fast event.
Cooley Auctions auctioneer Michael Garofolo started the auction with an opening bid of $1.2 million. He said the market was seeing plenty of big results at the moment due to a combination of cheap money and a lack of available stock.
“If you have a decent home on a decent size block than you are going to have lots of buyers interested,” he said.
He said all the bidders at this auction were young couples seeking more space after living in an apartment or a townhouses.
Listed with Raine & Horne — Concord’s Ross Musso and Daniel Maiese, the three-bedroom property on 403sqm had plenty of character charm including leadlight windows, architraves and a fireplace.
