A Canberra driver has had his licence suspended following a single-car crash in Tuggeranong on Wednesday night. ACT police said officers were called to an incident on Jim Pike Avenue in Gordon just after 7pm. A police spokesman said the car lost control, travelled through a wire fence and clipped a tree before damaging a pedestrian handrail and street sign. The car then continued down a rock wall before it landed on a footpath. The driver then fled from the scene but was later found at his home in Gordon. He was issued with an immediate suspension notice. The police spokesman said further charges against the driver were being investigated.
