Ellyse Perry has swept the women’s awards handed out by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the best players of the decade.
Australia’s superstar all-rounder was named the best women’s player of the decade, as well as picking up the Twenty20 and one-day international awards handed out by cricket’s governing body.
Perry scored 4,349 international runs and took 213 wickets as Australia won four Twenty20 World Cups and a 50-over World Cup in the decade.
Steve Smith was named the men’s Test player of the decade, reaffirming his brilliance during an uncharacteristically lean run with the bat.
The former Australia captain was awarded the honour on the same day he was dismissed for a single-digit score for the third time against India this summer.
But the voting period started after his first stint in the Test side in 2010 and did not include the current series, meaning it includes all but six of his 75 Tests.
In that time, he has scored all of his 26 Test centuries 28 of his 29 fifties, with 7,040 runs at an average of 65.79.
There was no Test award handed out for the women’s game as they do not play enough of the longest format, but Perry would likely have been at the front of the queue if it was up for grabs.
In six Tests during the voting period, Perry scored a double century, a century and two fifties among her 573 runs at an average of 114.60. She also took 26 wickets at 16.73.
