The woman, speaking anonymously on the So Dramatic! podcast on Wednesday night, claims to have dated Dunne on-and-off from around 2016 to 2017 before they broke up. “He and I dated for maybe eight to nine months … and we were in contact for up to another year after we had broken up,” the woman said.“It was pretty rough … it wasn’t an overly positive relationship from the get-go really.”After detailing a series of disturbing encounters, including one in which Dunne allegedly forced the woman to unlock her phone so that he could inspect her messages, the woman says the couple split. However, soon after, the woman said, Dunne made contact after hearing she had recently begun dating another man.“We spoke on the phone about it, he (said he) had some kind of blood disease with less than six months to live,” the woman says.“That was upsetting for me because, despite all the horrible things he did, I still cared about him and I cared about his wellbeing. I don’t know why but I did.”However the woman said red flags began to pop up — particularly when Dunne continued to work as a fly-in-fly-out crane operator on Barrow Island in Western Australia rather than seek treatment or spend time with his family.“For me it didn’t add up in my head. I said (to him); ‘Why are you back at work? Why are you spending time away?’“If it were me I would be quitting my job and spending time with my family and friends and doing all the (things) you want to get done before you die.”The woman says she began asking Dunne more questions about his alleged illness, but the now-32-year-old became evasive. “I started questioning him about his treatment and he told me he was taking chemotherapy tablets while he was working,” she says.“He said he was getting blood transfusions and constant tests … but it just didn’t make sense.“If I asked him about what hospital he was being treated at, he would just dodge (the question) and not answer.”DT Daily News podcastSurprisingly, Dunne’s life-threatening diagnosis and apparent recovery has not been raised on MAFS, with the musclebound former bodybuilder appearing to be the picture of health during his appearance on the show.Neither he nor a Channel 9 spokeswoman commented on the claims when contacted by Sydney Confidential.
