Emergency services were called to the reported chemical spill at the Darren Lange Swimming Academy in Erin St, Wilsonton, about 12.30pm. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services arrived on scene at 12.45pm, where a gas smell was coming from the building and an evacuation was in progress. Paramedics are assessing two adults and four children for respiratory issues while scientific investigators work to identify the chemical. Police have closed Erin St between Fitzpatrick and Hooper St to protect from potentially toxic fumes, a police spokeswoman said.It is understood scientific investigators are working to determine if the chemical is chlorine.
