Greater Brisbane was “100 per cent” on track to see restrictions on social gatherings and rules on wearing masks lift on Friday, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.
For the ninth day in a row, Queensland has recorded no new local coronavirus cases.
The two cases detected overnight involved returned overseas travellers staying in hotel quarantine on the Gold Coast.
There were 7990 tests conducted in the past 24-hours, exceeding the daily goal of 5000 tests.
Ms Palaszczuk said the run of zero days of community cases meant Greater Brisbane was “100 per cent” on track to lift gathering and mask restrictions on Friday.
“We’ve got one more day to go. It’s all looking very positive and we’ll be able to advise the greater Brisbane region tomorrow whether or not those restrictions will be able to ease,” she said.
