Detectives are investigating after a man was found injured and subsequently died in Melbourne’s south-east early on Sunday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of an injured man, of unknown age, at an address on Centre road in Oakleigh South about 3am.

Paramedics worked on the man but were unable to save him and he died at the scene.

How and why the man became injured is still under in investigation, and police have not made an arrest in relation to his death.

Homicide detectives are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to assist with their investigation.
