Luna and Black Lash Bar owner Bianca Black secured 32 per cent of the votes in the Bulletin Best of the Gold Coast series.“There is so many really talented lash artists on that list, I was happy to even be nominated,” said Ms Black after being told she had won. Luna and Black Lash Bar has been operating for almost two years, but Ms Black said there had been hurdles.

“I finished my training in April 2019, but I have moved from Palm Beach to Upper Coomera to Biggera Waters. I also went on maternity leave.” Ms Black had her first child, Arlo Phoenix, in May last year and went back to work when he was seven months old.Before her beauty therapist career Ms Black worked in administrative roles in real estate, accounting and property valuation.

She said she felt special that a majority of her clients had followed her and helped keep the business afloat. “I have one client that has followed me from Palm Beach and another that comes from north Brisbane.”Ms Black said she prided herself on creating friendships within her business. “Building a rapport is really important.” Ms Black said she hoped to expand her business, incorporating lash lifts and even maybe cosmetic tattooing.
