Fallen Channel 7 crime reporter Peter Fegan is rumoured to be gunning for a second-chance posting at Nine following his high-profile cocaine possession charge last month.TV sources say Fegan took a meeting recently with Nine’s head of news and current affairs boss Darren Wick, someone who knows all about second chances having endured his own fall-from-grace following his recent high-range drink drive charge.

It’s understood the two men met to map out a future at Nine for Fegan, who resigned from his longstanding post at Seven in the wake of his brush with the law but who, within media circles, has made it known he is keen to remain working in TV.Insiders say the pair “got along famously”.Both Fegan, 38, and Wick, 57, have fronted court for their respective misdemeanours in the past few weeks and both pleaded guilty.

Wick narrowly avoided jail on January 20 when sentenced to a nine-month intensive corrections order, to be served in the community. Fegan, meanwhile, was spared a conviction after being busted with two bags of cocaine on the night of the Channel 7 newsroom Christmas drinks on December 11.ROS KELLY GOES FULL CIRCLESports presenter Roz Kelly is having something of a full circle moment with the former star cricket reporter said to be jumping ship from Channel 10 back to Channel 9 — the same network where she got her big career break.Kelly, who married Proteas cricket superstar Morne Morkel back in 2014, confirmed this week that she has handed in her notice at Ten, where she has been fronting some of their sports coverage since 2016.It comes just over 10 years since Kelly made her free-to-air debut at Nine following two years climbing the ranks at Sky.

She spent three years as one of the faces of Nine’s domestic and international cricket coverage before meeting and eventually marrying Morkel in Cape Town, where the couple relocated.“Never in a million years did I think I would be moving to South Africa,” Kelly told The Sunday Telegraph at the time of her move overseas. “It’s been pretty sudden but I have put a lot of thought into it.“I chatted to Ken (Sutcliffe), who I call my Sydney dad, and we talked a lot about the important things in life and it was surprising actually. Everyone has been really supportive and encouraging.”Kelly, now also a mum of boys aged 5 and 2, returned to Australia with her family in 2018 and spent just over one year at Ten’s Pyrmont headquarters before quitting this week.“And now to some personal news … last night I choked back a few tears as I read my final sports bulletin at Ten,” Kelly wrote on her Instagram account, adding: “The sports team is family to me (dysfunctional one at that). 10 out of 10 humans. But the time has come to write a new chapter … xx”It’s rumoured Kelly will move back to the Nine newsroom under sports boss Brent Williams. A Nine spokesman declined to comment.
