She was treated by paramedics for injuries, including cuts and bruises, before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She has since been released into the care of her family.

He was taken to Burwood Police Station, where he was charged with several offences, including aggravated break and enter, aggravated sex assault-inflict actual bodily harm on victim, sexually touching another person without consent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The man could face up to 25 years in jail if convicted.
He has been refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday.
Detective Acting Superintendent Chris Goddard said the incident was one of the most “appalling” things he had seen in 30 years of policing.
“Those injuries will take some time to heal … she is strong-willed and positive about this whole thing,” he said. “Obviously [she’s] got a long time to go in terms of improvement, but she’s getting better with each day.”
He added the incident appeared to be a random attack and the man was known to police.
The woman’s young grandson, who did not want to be identified, was shocked to arrive at the Concord house to pick up his grandma on Saturday and discover it had become a crime scene.
“I just called my dad because I wasn’t expecting police to be here and he just told me what happened and I was really annoyed,” he told Nine News. “I just really hope, whoever did this to her, police catch him.”
