A man has been taken into custody after a shopping precinct in Western Australia’s South West was sent into lockdown following reports of a person armed with a knife.
Police had urged members of the public to stay away from Broadwater Shopping Village, on the corner of Bussell Highway and Holgate Road, in Busselton, and shoppers and staff were evacuated from the precinct after midday on Tuesday.
A WA Police spokesman said the man had been in a stand-off and was refusing to co-operate with officers.
However, he was taken into custody a short time later.
