A man produced a loaded semi-automatic pistol after being breath-tested north of Goulburn, police say. NSW police said they received complaints about the way a four-wheel drive was driving on George Street, Marulan, in the early hours of New Year’s Day. They said they found a silver Toyota Prado 4WD with a flat tyre at the corner with Brayton Road, and breath tested the driver, a 31-year-old man from South Hurstville. “After allegedly returning a positive result, the man was arrested and as he was being walked by police to the caged police truck, it’s alleged he produced a semi-automatic pistol from his pants and threw it on the ground,” police said in a statement. “Police seized the firearm and the man was taken to Goulburn Police Station.” The man was charged with not keeping a firearm safely, handling a firearm under the influence of alcohol, possessing an unregistered/unauthorised pistol in a public place, and refusing or failing to submit to a breath analysis. He was refused bail and is expected to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday January 13.
