A 35-year old Scullin man will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday on 12 charges including forcibly confining and threatening to kill a 20-year-old pregnant woman. ACT Policing allege the man assaulted the woman at a residence in Macgregor at 5am on January 25, 2021. Police received a report at 10.30am on January 31 that the man was holding this woman against her will at the Macgregor residence. ACT Policing attended the residence, and after locating the woman received reports the man had allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill the woman more than once. Further reports have been made to the ACT Policing that allege the man committed additional crimes. A warrant for the man’s arrest was issued on Monday and he was arrested at a Melba residence at 2.45pm on Tuesday. The man is charged with three counts of reckless threat to kill person, three counts of assault, actual bodily harm on a pregnant woman, two counts of forcible confinement, and single counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally wound, possess offensive weapon with intent, and minor theft.
