Supporters of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny gathered on Monday, January 18, outside the Moscow police station where he was being held. Navalny was arrested on Sunday, after he flew to Moscow from Germany, where he’d received treatment after being poisoned in August 2020. A court sitting in the police station extended Navalny’s period of detention until February 15, the Moscow Times reported. In a clip from inside the police station, Navalny demanded that media outlets be allowed in. Navalny faces trial for allegedly violating the terms of a controversial 2014 suspended sentence, the Moscow Times said. Credit: Tatiana Usmanova via Storyful
