Black Temple Tattoo is an extension of similarly named licensed venues on the Gold Coast and Cairns.Business manager Chris Bowtell said it focused on customer service and high-end quality tattoos.“We have spent a lot of money on our fit-out and the additional equipment and services we provide make the time that people spend here more personalised, so they feel comfortable and wanted,” Mr Bowtell said. The parlour, which will open on April 1, will have seven bays and about 10 staff. Each tattoo bay has a comfortable reclining chair and adjoining 50 inch flat screen monitor.“You have Netflix for each TV, headphones for each TV, and we offer free lunches for our longer term clients,” Mr Bowtell said.“We also pay for parking and provide free coffee.”Mr Bowtell said they tried to promote a calm, relaxing environment.“The Townsville locals deserve something like this,” Mr Bowtell said.“If they want that higher-end studio, that quality of work, a lot of the time they have had to travel down south to bigger cities.“That’s what Townsville, unfortunately, has lacked and that’s why we wanted to bring this to Townsville.”Ray White Commercial director Troy Townsend said it was the highest standard fit-out he had seen for a tattoo studio. He said the leasing market was enjoying a strong resurgence in Townsville.
