“Both of those particular locations have been cooperative overnight and we recognise the huge impact this will have on those organisations, and their congregations, and other pages of those facilities,” Mr Weimar said.
“Our approach to these cases is not just to deal with close contacts but also contacts of contacts, we will be putting out a further ring and asking anyone who knows those close contacts to also isolate, to get tested, and for 14 days.
There are now 52 close contacts of the three people found to be positive on Wednesday night, including close contacts in the coastal holiday town of Barwon Heads.
“This shows that at this holiday time how widely we all travel, how widely we all beat, and we have seen a number of significant private gatherings involving these individuals over the last week, as many of us have enjoyed,” Mr Weimar said on Thursday morning.
