Boom Scone trainer Mark Schmetzer will aim his blossoming speed mare Invincible Ninja at the early highways next year, but not before she attempts to keep her exciting form rolling at Tuesday’s feature Gunnedah meeting.

The “Ninja” – as she’s commonly known – made an explosive start for the new stable at Quirindi nearly four weeks back, leading all the way to lower the boom on heavily backed favourite Without Shame, who then franked the form with a dominant maiden win at Mudgee two weeks later.

Invincible Ninja then pinned the ears back from the outside gate at this track a fortnight ago, and looked home for all money before nabbed in the final stride by smart Tamworth filly Mischief Managed.

Schmetzer is likely to spell the “Ninja” after Gunnedah and then reboot her towards bigger prizes in the new year, including the early highway sprints in Sydney.
