In the first incident, a woman believed to be in her 50s died after a suspected drowning in Sydney Harbour in the city’s eastern suburbs.NSW Police said the woman died after being pulled unconscious from the water at Elizabeth Bay about 7pm.Paramedics performed CPR on her, but she died at the scene.The woman had not been formally identified late on Saturday night. Police are investigating and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.In the second incident, a woman escaped serious injury after a boat exploded at a marina on Sydney’s northern beaches.The 57-year-old woman was asleep on board the vessel at Newport Anchorage Marina when the explosion occurred about 7.50pm on Saturday.She suffered cuts to her body and legs and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition. NSW Ambulance inspector Darren Hoschke said the woman was assisted by a bystander, who helped her to dry land before the boat sank as a result of the explosion.DT Daily News podcastInspector Hoschke described the incident as “horrific”.“The explosion caused enough damage to start to sink the boat, it was a relief to see the patient walk away from the scene,” he said.NSW Police said an investigation had been launched into the cause of the incident.No one else was on board at the time.NAT – Stay Informed – Social Media
