Police responded to an incident near Lake Burley Griffin in the early hours of Monday morning. ACT Policing provided little detail of the incident. In a statement a spokeswoman said: “About 1.15am Monday, December 28, 2020, ACT Policing responded to an incident near Lake Burley Griffin”. “There is a large police presence in the Barton, Kingston and Jerrabomberra Wetlands areas.” Police remained at the lake as of 9.30am on Monday morning. There have been reports of a helicopter flying over East Basin at about 3am on Monday morning. The spokeswoman said there was no threat to the wider community.
