A one-off World Surf Tour event will be held at Rottnest Island after Queensland and Victorian legs of the event were dropped.

Surfers from around the globe will now quarantine in New South Wales for two weeks before taking part in events at Newcastle and Narrabeen and then heading west for legs in Margaret River and at Rottnest Island.

WSL Asia Pacific general manager Andrew Stark said the Australian season looked very different to usual due to COVID-19 complications.

“Although it’s genuinely disappointing to miss locations like Bells Beach and Snapper Rocks this year, we are stoked to add Newcastle, North Narrabeen and Rottnest Island to the schedule,” he said.
