“So it’s really important Queenslanders continue to come forward and get tested if they have any symptoms. That is critically important.
“There is a concern that we might have virus circulating and the best way to deal with that is to come forward and get tested.”
Dr Young said anyone living in Ipswich or Wynnum should come forward for testing, with fever clinics turning test results around in about 24 hours.
The positive test result in Wynnum follows another alert in Ipswich’s Carole Park, where a wastewater test came back positive on Wednesday.
