Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff said more than 11,350 senior secondary students from across the state showed incredible resilience this year, persevering under difficult circumstances.“Despite these challenges, preliminary data shows an increasing percentage of students have achieved the Tasmanian Certificate of Education and the Tasmanian Certificate of Educational Achievement when compared to the preliminary data last year,” he said.“Students can be reassured that all aspects of the external assessment and resulting processes have been undertaken, applying the 2020 external assessment specifications and the usual assessment practices.“I hope all students feel great pride and satisfaction in what they have accomplished in these unprecedented times, and I wish them all the best on their future endeavours.”The top three students in southern Tasmania are Guilford Young College’s Jet Jankiewicz, St Michael’s Collegiate’s Georgia McCulloch and Hobart College’s Sophie Janes.In northern Tasmania Scotch Oakburn College students Lachlan Stewart, Panayiota Antypas and Ethan Hamilton scored high, and in the North-West Marist Regional College’s Rayyan Baig and Oscar Smith and Hellyer College’s Jarod Grining were the top scorers.
