The man who was attacked by a bull shark in the Swan River remains in a very serious condition in hospital, recovering from a broken hip and nerve damage.
Cameron Wrathall was swimming at Blackwall Reach in Bicton on January 14 with friend Richard O’Brien when the attack occurred. Kayakers paddled out to help bring Mr Wrathall to shore about 8am, and used a shirt as a tourniquet to save his life.
Mr O’Brien told Radio 6PR’s Liam Bartlett his friend’s injuries were more serious than first thought.
Mr Wrathall suffered a broken hip in the attack and has nerve damage as a result, he said.
