A teenage girl has died and a second is in a critical condition after a stabbing in Parramatta on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to an apartment complex on Church Street at about 10.45pm where the two girls were found with stab wounds.

The girls were taken to Westmead Hospital, where one died, NSW Police said.

She is yet to be formally identified.
